Our first event was held on March 8th 2005 (International Women's Day) at the Royal College of Art and brought together 200 women from all sectors of construction for dinner, drinks and debate.

The event sold out in a week and we had a fantastic response, which made us decide to hold regular events and to develop the Chicks with Bricks network further.

Our speakers were Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt MP, then Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, and Zoe Blackler, features editor of BD magazine.

A mix of women from all sectors and of all ages attended. Senior women met young entrepreneurs, while young professionals met role models, mentors and future clients.

Thanks to all who attended and made it a great night. Special thanks to the Women in Architecture team who gave us a huge amount of support and assistance - Angela Brady, Alex Bulford, Pamela Edwards, Virginia Newman, Evelyn Pellow, Karen Rogers and Helen Taylor.
